Sometimes I think I should go vegetarian for this reason. I know Anthony Bourdain is all about the street food and abhorrs vegetarians, but... I swear to this day I ate a Freddy burger from a bizarre Dairy Queen in the middle of Iowa. Remember that, Mom? Buh-buh-buh-buh-Bettendorf. That's not nice of me to mock speech impediment.
Woke up at 6:15 (I love getting up early, even though in the past I totally wasn't a morning person.) I left for work around 9:40 and got done at 2:30. Went to Wentzville after to stock up on a few things, then home through farm territory for a change of scenery. It's fun to try out all the alphabet and number roads around here, and there are tons! I just like to go for drives every now and then, even though I tell myself I shouldn't waste the gas, but other than work, I rarely go anywhere, so who cares! :D

I think Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." is cute. Is it pathetic that I'm 30 and am admitting to liking Miley Cyrus?

"If you're coming with me you need...to go away!"
I'm a very selfish person. I mean, all I think about is myself! Isn't that the definition of the word 'selfish?' But, at the same time, I care about what other people think of me and hate to disappoint or hurt other people's feelings. I think that's why I avoid people so much - so I don't have to deal with that stuff.
As crazy as it sounds, I haven't had any close friends since middle school. I'm so used to it, that the thought of having people call me, and going out to do stuff just doesn't appeal to me at all. I'm free of those things and I really like it that way. Me and the word 'commitment' don't mix...well, at least not for any long length of time. While the whole world deals with outside things, I'm inside, groovin' to music, blissfully distant from promises to do this or that. My lonely existence gives me time to think, and to pursue interests and hobbies that might otherwise be pushed by the wayside.
Does all this really make me selfish though? Should I really feel bad for being a 'loner?' I'm actually pretty happy, and when I am around people, it's usually meant to be and all is well.
The sky was as full of motion and change as the desert beneath it was monotonous and still,-and there was so much sky, more than at sea, more than anywhere else in the world. The plain was there, under one's feet, but what one saw when one looked about was that brilliant blue world of stinging air and moving cloud. Even the mountains were mere ant-hills under it. Elsewhere the sky is the roof of the world; but here the earth was the floor of the sky. The landscape one longed for when one was far away, the thing all about one, the world one actually lived in, was the sky, the sky!

"Have you ever seen the prairies, Mr. Birdwell? I've often thought of them. High and even, they must be, like a hay field, running on without end, and a strong wind always blowing so it would be easy to breathe." "Yes," Jess said. "I've seen the prairies. Like a dry ocean, the grass moving like waves."
